TEACHING AND LEARNING METHODOLOGY

The teaching philosophy in our design courses is based on the delivery of a high quality and Interactive experience through pedagogy based on research and supported by empirical evidence of effectiveness. We believe in grooming students to achieve a higher level of cognitive learning through developing specific methodologies that will help them negotiate their future workplace. This is achieved through a balanced mix of different methods of delivery such as traditional lectures, readings, seminar, Group dis-cussions, demonstrations, mentorship programmes, role play and debates, field visits, independent study, Self-evalu-ation, industry projects, expert lectures and team work based activities which helps students to strengthen their design perspectives bringing out the best in their individual approach to their chosen field of design and careers.

COURSE ASSESSMENT SCHEME

The assessment strategy for our design courses uses a per-fect balance between summative and formative assess-ments in order to improve skills not only on core disciplines but also in project planning and time management. Projects are concurrently conducted between all modules in order to improve students’ transferrable skills, allowing them to link skills and competencies from various domains.
